Procedure Writing

Procedure Writing!!  

Martin the Alien has arrived on Earth and he wants to know how to make a Healthy Hamburger. Here is a procedure, using the correct structure and language, to instruct Martin on how to make my favourite healthy hamburger.

Title: The Awesome Hamburger

Ingredients/Materials:

1 pizza bun

1 tomato

lettuce

cheese

1 meat patty

Method:

1. Cut the bun in half.
2. Put the bun on a plate.
3. Cook the meat patty in the microwave
4. Get a tea towel and pull it out of the microwave.
5. Put meat patty on bun.
6. Add cheese on the bun.
7. Add sliced lettuce.
8. Slice some tomatoes.
9. Put the tomatoes on the bun.
10. Put the top part of the bun on.

   You have made Lukas’ favourite hamburger.

My class went to Harold the giraffe.  We learnt about food. We learnt which foods we need to eat lots of, food that we eat some of and food that we should only eat a little bit. This is an animation I created of an alien coming to Earth and finding out about food.

 Jump Rope for Heart

Yay!! On Tuesday was our Jump Rope for Heart. My favourite station was long ropes. I did 67 rope jumps. It was fun.  Finally it was the jump off. Max did 133 jumps. I came 3rd. My mum forgot our Jump Rope for Heart money.

We have been learning how to create  animation.  Here is my animation of my science experiment called table top hovercraft.

This is an example of my adverb writing. 

Whoosh!! The strong warm wind blows as I slowly stroll down the street.  I hear my new shoes tapping on the smooth metal. Tip tap tip tap. Slowly I walk to get a yummy vanilla ice-cream!  I feel relaxed in the smooth air.  Patiently I wait to get an ice-cream to cool me off!

Adverbs

I have been learning how to use adverbs as sentence starters to make my writing more interesting.

Happily she unwrapped her birthday present.

Loudly the dog barked at the cat up the tree.

Sneakily the hungry cat chased the mouse around the house.

Tabletop Hovercraft

For the science fair my group did the table top hovercraft. We wanted to see which balloon would be the best to hover the CD for the longest. The normal balloon was the best and hovered for the longest.  My group worked well and we were the first to finish.

My holiday

Team’s at Rugby Camp in Kerikeri at 8:30am      

Wow! The Bay of Islands team got to the finals against the grizzly bears.

They were playing the game for the Taniwha Cup. “Harly look the Taniwha is coming,” I whispered. When he came over Harly gave him a high five, then I did.  

The game started. The grizzly bears kicked off. Bay of Islands grabbed the ball BUT the boy got tackled hard to the ground! The Bay of Islands passed the ball around as fast as flash BUT then the grizzly bears stole the ball and scored a try. Everyone clapped and cheered.  It was cold that day.  But everyone was happy as a bear with honey.  I was getting bored so I asked if I could have an ice cream and dad said I could. On the second half the grizzly bears scored 2 more tries. The game was over! The grizzly bear’s had won the Taniwha Cup!

Autumn

The leaves fall off the trees.

Lovely leaves of red, orange and brown.  

The leaves have been nice to the tree but now leave the tree bare.  

The naked tree looks like brown skinny bones of a skeleton.

The breeze slides through the leaves tumbling like a boulder from a cliff.

Narrative

HUNTED

One night a full moon was shining as bright as a light, lighting up the  jungle. Suddenly a jungle boy appears from behind the trees. He was hungry. He smells chicken. He goes for it but he falls in a trap. The man flashes a camera to make him blind so he had time to tie him upside down.  The hunter got the wishbone and they snapped it together. The boy won. He used the broken wishbone to unlock the padlock to  escape. The hunter was in a little hut talking to the president. When he came  out the boy was gone. He looked for him. The boy came to a hole just as the man reached him.  The boy sees the camera and blinds him. The boy runs into a cage and slips out of the bars but the hunter smashes into the cage bars and gets knocked out. The other boys come to sing and eat him alive!
